History: Benjamin Castleman first described Multicentric Castleman's Disease in 1954. An interest in Castleman Disease has grow due to the relation with the HIV virus. The disease is divided into Multi-centric and localized Castleman Disease. Castleman's Disease can also be divided into hyalinized vascular form and a plasma cell variant. "Castleman's disease is established by biopsy and treatment is often based on published case reports only"(NCBI).

Unicentric: Surgery is used to remove the diseased lymph node. If surgery is not an option drugs can be administered to shrink the lymph node. Radiation therapy is sometimes used to destroy the affected tissue. Multicentric:

Types:
Life Expectancy: Most people who are diagnosed with Castleman Disease will live a totally normal life once treated.Although if you have multicentric Castleman disease, the life expectancy is lessened due to the harsh drugs and chemotherapy sometimes involved.
