History: BPH is a bengin tumor that develops in men and elderly patients. With aging lower urinary tracts symptoms increase and 50% of men develop pathological BPH from 51-60 years old. Men 70-79 are 4.6 times more likely to develop urinary symptoms. "BPH itself is associated with a deteriorated clinical and symptomatic natural history, and early treatment may benefit patients with bothersome symptoms of BPH"(ScienceDirect).
